Finqle offers two types of merchant experiences, each with its own invoicing and payment flow. The timing of your payout depends on whether you use Finqle directly or through a platform/intermediary.

All payments from Finqle are processed via SEPA Instant Payments (EUR, instant) or Faster Payment System (GBP, instant). If SEPA Instant is unavailable, payments fall back to SEPA Credit Transfer, which may take up to 1 working day.

If you use Finqle directly

There are two possible flows depending on your setup with the Debtor.

  1. 1
Verification by Finqle (create or upload invoice)
    • You create or submit an invoice directly to Finqle.
    • Finqle verifies the invoice for accuracy and compliance.
    • If submitted before 13:00, payout is typically the same day. After 13:00, payout is processed on a best-effort basis, possibly the next business day.
  2. 2
    Debtor approval (Billing Requests)
    • You submit a Billing Request (BR), which acts as a pre-invoice.
    • The Debtor must approve the BR before it is turned into a final invoice.
    • After approval, Finqle verifies the invoice and processes the payout.
    • This flow is not bound to the 13:00 cut-off. Payout follows as soon as approval and verification are complete.

Payment method: instant via SEPA (EUR) or FPS (GBP), with potential fallback to SEPA Credit Transfer (up to 1 working day).

If you work via a platform or intermediary

Billing Requests are created through your platform or intermediary and must be approved by the Debtor before they are converted into invoices.

  • Checkout process: you can initiate a checkout via the platform or intermediary, after which the Debtor approves it. In some setups the Debtor creates the checkout, which is often approved immediately.
  • Billing Requests: the platform or intermediary submits these checkouts as Billing Requests, either pre-approved or pending approval.
  • Approval and conversion: once the Billing Request reaches approved status in Finqle's system it is automatically converted into an invoice. Multiple Billing Requests for the same merchant-debtor pair may be bundled into a single invoice, depending on your platform's setup.
  • Payout timing: approved invoices are paid out automatically upon conversion.
  • Payment method: instant via SEPA (EUR) or FPS (GBP), with potential fallback to SEPA Credit Transfer (up to 1 working day).

FAQ

What is the daily cut-off time?

For uploaded or created invoices the cut-off is 13:00 CET. Anything submitted before that is processed for same-day payout. Submissions after 13:00 are handled on a best-effort basis and typically pay out the next business day.

Billing Requests are not bound to the 13:00 cut-off: payout follows as soon as the Debtor approves and the invoice passes Finqle verification.

Do I get paid on weekends or holidays?

SEPA Instant runs 24/7, so most payments arrive on weekends and Dutch public holidays as well. If SEPA Instant is unavailable, the fallback (SEPA Credit Transfer) only settles on bank business days, so weekend or holiday submissions may land the next business day.

Why did my payout not arrive?

The most common causes:

  • Submitted after 13:00 (invoice flow)
  • Billing Request still awaiting Debtor approval
  • Verification flagged a discrepancy (amount, VAT, KOR mismatch)
  • IBAN recently changed and still under verification
  • SEPA Instant fell back to Credit Transfer (up to 1 working day)

Check the status in My Finqle. If it is stuck for more than 24 hours, contact info@finqle.com.

What if my invoice currency does not match the Debtor's setup?

Finqle pays out in the contract currency (EUR or GBP). If you submit an invoice in a different currency, verification will fail and you will receive an error. Re-submit in the agreed currency, or contact your Account Manager if you need a multi-currency setup.

Where is the holiday calendar?

Finqle follows the Dutch banking calendar (TARGET2) for the SEPA Credit Transfer fallback. SEPA Instant runs every day. The most relevant non-business days are 1 January, Good Friday, Easter Monday, 1 May, 25 December and 26 December.
